Most Americans have no idea of just how powerful Israeli and Jewish interests are. Two recent stories out of Kansas and Texas illustrate exactly how supporters of Israel in the United States are ready, willing and able to subvert the existing constitutional and legal protections that uphold the right to fair and impartial treatment for all American citizens.

The friends of Israel appear to believe that anyone who is unwilling to do business with Israel or even with the territories that it has illegally occupied should not be allowed to do business in any capacity with federal, state or even local governments. Constitutional guarantees of freedom of association for every American are apparently not valid if one particular highly favored foreign country is involved.

Maryland became the most recent state to jump on the Israel bandwagon last week. Currently twenty-two state legislatures have passed various laws confronting boycotts of Israel because of its human rights abuses, in many cases initiating economic penalties on those organizations and individuals or denying state funds to colleges and universities that allow boycott advocates to operate freely on campus.

When governor of South Carolina, current United Nations Ambassador Nikki Haley, an ardent supporter of Israel, signed the first state law attacking those who support boycotting or sanctioning the Israeli government, the country’s state institutions and its businesses. Haley, who is supposed to be defending American interests, has also stated her priority focus will be opposing “the UN’s bias against our close ally Israel.”

Both the recent cases in Kansas and Texas involve state mandates regarding Israel. Both states are, one might note, part of the Bible belt. The anti-boycott legislation was sponsored by powerful Christian Zionist constituencies and passed through the respective legislatures with little debate. In Kansas, Esther Koontz, a Mennonite curriculum coach was fired by the State Department of Education as a teacher trainer because she would not certify in writing that she does not boycott Israel. Koontz’s church had passed a resolution in July seeking peace in the Middle East which specifically opposed purchasing products associated with Israel’s “military occupation” of Palestine. With the assistance of the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), Koontz is contesting the Kansas government position.

In Dickinson, Texas, in a case which actually made national news, if only briefly, the city is requiring anyone who applies for disaster relief to sign a document that reads “Verification not to Boycott Israel: By executing this Agreement below, the Applicant verifies that the Applicant: (1) does not boycott Israel; and (2) will not boycott Israel during the term of this Agreement.” Dickinson was half destroyed by hurricane Harvey last month and urgently needs assistance, but, in the opinion of Texas lawmakers and local officials, deference to Israel comes first. The ACLU is also contesting the Texas legislation.

The Texas law was signed earlier this year and took effect on September 1st. In January 2016, Governor Greg Abbott met with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who urged Texas to push through the legislation. Abbott responded, and, when signing the bill, commented that “any anti-Israel policy is an ‘anti-Texas policy.’” Abbot is reportedly also considering Israeli endorsed legislation that would ban all business dealings on the part of Texas companies with Iran.

One particular pending piece of federal legislation that is also currently making its way through the Senate would far exceed what is happening at the state level and would set a new standard for deference to Israeli interests on the part of the national government.

It would criminalize any U.S. citizen “engaged in interstate or foreign commerce” who supports a boycott of Israel or who even goes about “requesting the furnishing of information” regarding it, with penalties enforced through amendments of two existing laws, the Export Administration Act of 1979 and the Export-Import Act of 1945, that include potential fines of between $250,000 and $1 million and up to 20 years in prison.

According to the Jewish Telegraph Agency, the Senate bill was drafted with the assistance of AIPAC. The legislation, which would almost certainly be overturned as unconstitutional if it ever does in fact become law, is particularly dangerous and goes well beyond any previous pro-Israeli legislation as it essentially denies free of expression when the subject is Israel.

The movement that is being particularly targeted by the bills at both the state level and also within the federal government is referred to by its acronym as BDS, which is an acronym for Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions. It is a non-violent reaction to the Israeli military occupation of Palestinian land on the West Bank and the continued building of Jewish-only settlements. BDS has been targeted both by the Israeli government and by the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC). The AIPAC website under its lobbying agenda includes the promotion of the Israel Anti-Boycott Act as a top priority.

The Israeli government and its American supporters particularly fear BDS because it has become quite popular, particularly on university campuses, where administrative steps have frequently been taken to suppress it. The denial of free speech on campus when it relates to Israel has sometimes been referred to as the “Palestinian exception.” Nevertheless, the message continues to resonate, due both to its non- violence and human rights appeal.

It challenges Israel’s arbitrary military rule over three million Palestinians on the West Bank who have onerous restrictions placed on nearly every aspect of their daily lives. And its underlying message is that Israel is a rogue state engaging in actions that are widely considered to be both illegal and immoral, which the Israeli government rightly sees as potentially delegitimizing.

It is disheartening to realize that a clear majority of state legislators and congressmen thinks it is perfectly acceptable to deny all Americans the right to free political expression in order to defend an internationally acknowledged illegal occupation being carried out by a foreign country. Those co-sponsoring the bills include Democrats, Republicans, progressives and conservatives. Deference to Israeli interests is bi-partisan and crosses ideological lines. Glenn Greenwald and Ryan Grim, writing at The Interceptobserve that “…the very mention of the word ‘Israel’ causes most members of both parties to quickly snap into line in a show of unanimity that would make the regime of North Korea blush with envy.”

Would that the anti BDS activity were the only examples of pro-Israeli legislation, but there is, unfortunately more. Another bill that might actually have been written by AIPAC is called Senate 722, Countering Iran’s Destabilizing Activities Act of 2017. The bill mandates that “Not later than 180 days after the date of the enactment of this Act, and every 2 years thereafter, the Secretary of State, the Secretary of Defense, the Secretary of the Treasury, and the Director of National Intelligence shall jointly develop and submit to the appropriate congressional committees a strategy for deterring conventional and asymmetric Iranian activities and threats that directly threaten the United States and key allies in the Middle East, North Africa, and beyond.”

Senate bill 722 combined with recent de-certification of Iran by the White House is a formula for war and a gift to Israel. And there’s more. A bill has surfaced in the House of Representatives that will require the United States to “consult” with Israel regarding any prospective arms sales to Arab countries in the Middle East. In other words, Israel will have a say, backed up undoubtedly by Congress and the media, over what the United States does in terms of its weapons sales abroad. The sponsors of the bill, want “closer scrutiny of future military arms sales” to maintain the “qualitative military edge” that Israel currently enjoys.

And there’s still more. The most recent trade bill with Europe, signed by President Barack Obama, includes language requiring the European blocking of “politically motivated” efforts to boycott Israel as a factor in bilateral trade agreements, so U.S. business interests will become subordinated to how foreign governments regard Israel. How does all this play out in practice? A Jewish group in New Jersey is seeking to blacklist with the state pension investment fund a Danish bank that has refused to provide loans to two Israeli defense contractors. The bank has argued that it has turned down loans to many companies in many countries for sound business reasons, but that common sense argument apparently is unacceptable to the NJ State Association of Jewish Federations.

And there’s bill HR 672 Combating European Anti-Semitism Act of 2017, which was passed unanimously by the House of Representatives on June 14th. Yes, “unanimously.” The bill requires the State Department to monitor what European nations and their police forces are doing about anti-Semitism and encourages them to adopt “a uniform definition of anti-Semitism.”

That means that criticism of Israel must be considered anti-Semitism and will therefore be a hate crime and prosecutable, a status that is already de facto true in Britain and France. If the Europeans don’t play ball, there is the possibility of still more repercussions in trade negotiations. The bill was co-sponsored by Ileana Ros-Lehtinen from Florida and Nita Lowey of New York, both of whom are Jewish.

There is also a Senate companion bill on offer in the Special Envoy to Monitor and Combat Anti-Semitism Act of 2017. The bill will make the Anti-Semitism Envoy a full American Ambassador and will empower him or her with a full staff and a budget permitting meddling worldwide. There is also a Special Advisor for Holocaust Issues. There are no comparable positions at the State Department specifically monitoring anti-Christian or Muslim activity or for dealing with historic events like the Armenian genocide.

Anyone who thinks that the government in the United States at all levels does not consistently and almost obsessively defer to Israeli and Jewish interests has been asleep. The requirement to sign a document relating to one views of any foreign government to obtain a job or disaster relief is an abomination. Protecting Israel and going on a worldwide search for anti-Semitism or Holocaust deniers are not the responsibility of the American government and they are not what state legislators and congressmen are supposed to be doing to serve the public interest.

Israel is sometimes referred to as the “51st State,” but that is hardly true as it contributes nothing to the United States, collects billions of dollars a year from the U.S. Treasury and is totally unaccountable in terms of the actual damage it does to American interests. The American people are being hoodwinked by their own elected leaders and laws are being passed to make it impossible for them to even complain. Well, enough is enough. It is past time to shut the door on the Israeli influence machine and take back what remains of truly responsive and representational government.

I intend to copy this fine article and distribute it among some church organizations whose members may be unwittingly supporting anti-American activities by their stupid and “faith-instigated” support of Israhell. Hopefully, AIPAC may be ensuring its own demise by bringing this attention onto itself. I know, absolutely, my own patriotism toward America will diminish if this treasonous legislation continues. It is a slap-in-the-face of every “American” principle we have been taught to uphold!

  2. Why cant legal action be taken against Nikki Haley and her ilk? Why dont BDS organizations band together and challenge these traitors in court? If the actions of people like Nikkie Haley are trampling our constitutional rights, cant arrest warrents be issued? I seriously doubt any U.S. politician has “diplomatic immunity” regarding Internal issues. I refuse to believe that BDS or U.S. citizens have no course of action to retaliate against the treasonous acts of despicable people like Nikkie Haley. Trump’s biggest mistake was in trusting Christian Zionist Pence, who doubtless wanted Israel-first Russia hater Haley to be UN Ambassador. Nonetheless, Trump should have known that Haley was a Romneyite never Trumper, who only switched to him once it became obvious that he won the nomination. Eric Margolis wrote recently that Haley’s only prior experience in foreign affairs was when she ate at an IHOP while governor of South Carolina.

    So even if you only request information about BDS you can get fined up to $1 million or jailed up to 20 years !

    They have also defined “anti-Semitism” as ANY form of criticism of Jews or the state of Israel and they want to prosecute anyone engaged in it all over the world. Following is the “working definition of anti-Semitism”, as adopted by the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance Plenary on May 26, 2016 in Bucharest :

The IHRA working definition of anti-Semitism would certainly make it more difficult to speak or write directly about certain subjects concerning the self-professed “Chosen”, but that will only stop the less talented speakers and writers from getting the truth out. I’m sure almost everyone has heard the expression “Damned with faint praise”. That is, it’s quite possible to appear to be doing or saying something, while in fact doing or saying the exact opposite. I’m not going to say much more on that topic because I have little doubt this site is monitored.

      With Zionist judges in many courts one may still be at risk using the “damned with faint praise” approach, but unless the “chosen” are willing to prohibit any and all discussion of Israel and / or Jews, which seems unlikely given their tendency to gloat about their achievements, there is a good chance of avoiding fines or jail time.

      One last point. Getting the word out often involves linking to documents, citing material from books, posting photographs, charts, etc. And, one of the techniques the Sayanim use when someone cites an inconvenient truth is to ask for the evidence. Unsurprisingly, if evidence is proffered it not uncommonly disappears soon thereafter. IF this IHRA definition of anti-Semitism does become the law of the land in the US, it will be necessary to be a lot more careful and judicious about sharing sources, making backups, and offering evidence.

    There may or may not be similar bills pending in the Senate, and I did not attempt to list Senate bills without House equivalents, although they would appear in the list.

    But there are also fifty State legislatures, and thousands of local legislative bodies that may be working on their own versions of pro-Israel legislation. The shocking figure of $20 billion in “aid” to Israel reflects only the US taxpayer money that ends up in Israel, and doesn’t include the costs of all the time and expense spent getting that $20 billion into Israeli pockets.

    Solutions? I’ve tried writing to my CongressClowns, and I’ve tried calling. Both were futile since I had neither a fat wad of cash to offer, nor any of the kinds of incriminating evidence gathered by Israel’s secret services when US legislators go on all-expenses-paid excursions to Israel. All I got in return were some form letters about the “only democracy in the Middle East” and the need to maintain the relationship with our “special friend and ally”.

    Voting the traitors out of office doesn’t work because the next officeholder gets to Washington DC and is immediately required to sign a loyalty oath to Israel in exchange for any possibility of serving more than a single term.

    Our best hope for ending the pandering to Israel may lie with Israel and diaspora Jews who never cease pushing for more advantages, privileges, and money. Some words of wisdom from Arch Stanton:

    The thing is, this has been going on for a long time. It wasn’t for “us” that “our” “government” involved “us” in WW1 and WW2. It’s not for “our” benefit that “our” “government” refuses to investigate 9/11.

It’s not for “our” interests that Orange Clown threatens North Korea, Iran and Venezuela. It’s not for “our” benefit that we’re close to a nuclear war with Russia and China.

    I believe it’s the jews’ “foreign policy” (of world domination and control) that’s the primary driver of domestic policy. IOW, the jews realize that they can’t run the whole world from a “constitutional republic”, thus we no longer have one; rather, we have a police state.

    And the jews realize that in order to have an efficient police state, they need lots of corrupt sociopaths to fill the ranks; thus they’ve been working ’round the clock for a long time to turn our neighbors into the highly manipulable moral monsters that are the “nuts and bolts” of their evil empire.

    The jews are riding a tiger. They must either escalate, constantly, or they must back off. And if they back off, they lose. So they push on relentlessly in their hopeless imperial quest to rule the world, and that requires ever more oppression at home: The more sanctions on Iran, the more military assets deployed to Eastern Europe, the more “aid” to Israel…the more the jewish boot must come down on our necks at home.

  9. I’ve been reading Phil Giraldi’s columns for several years now. This article, coming on the heels of writing “Americas Jews are Responsible for America’s Wars,” clearly shows his growing frustration with his native land becoming nothing more than Israel’s whore. At some point these supremacists Jews will go too far and maybe this is it. Surely, anyone who has found out about Texas’ flood victims being required to sign, in effect, loyalty oaths to Israel in order to receive government help must be appalled. They should be storming the governor’s office, as he is the one who signed the bill.

    OTOH it is heartening that the ACLU, started by Jewish communists and still run by Jews, has come out in opposition to these clearly unconstitutional measures. I’m willing to bet the Jewish community is seriously divided on what is definitely a bridge too far for Netanyahu’s loyalists.

    I wonder if Texan Alex Jones, always afraid to condemn Jews directly, using the word Globalists instead, has spoken out on this travesty?

    Fabrizio is speculating that Sanders could’ve beaten Trump. Sanders may or may not have been able to beat Trump, but the speculation is very reasonable, IMO. In fact I personally know many people who would’ve voted for Sanders, mainly because they perceived him as having an anti-war stance.

    I believe that there were many anti-war Democrats who were angry that wild-eyed warmonger Hillary Clinton won the nomination. The question was: Would this block of disillusioned Democratic voters vote the party, i.e., would they vote for Hillary Clinton; or would they vote the anti-war issue, i.e., would they vote for professing anti-war candidate Trump?

    But then just as the election was coming into the home stretch in September 2016, Obama attacked the Syrian Army near the Deir ez-zor airport. Tensions with Russia escalated quickly and Alex Jones and many other commentators and “analysts” were proclaiming that WW3 was at hand and uploading nuclear fallout maps.

    Obama’s escalation of tensions with Russia coming when it did had to damage Clinton’s election prospects. Was it just coincidence? Or was it a calculated ploy to swing the anti-war democratic voters into Trump’s camp?

When Jews have to monger more and more legislation in a land that once felt “less (legislation) is more” meaning traditional values made it unnecessary to be burdened with scurrilous ‘laws’ it surely is a mark of DESPERATION.     In the former Soviet Union since predatory loan sharking was outlawed many Jews found themselves forced into careers in Science and other generally less lucrative livelihoods.     Farage was doing a radio show, taking calls from the audience and responding.

    Predictably, Farage soon heard from some friends of Israel.

    “A Board of (Jewish) Deputies spokesperson said: “Nigel Farage’s clumsy use of the terms Israel and Jewish lobby interchangeably and his reference to their ‘power’ has crossed the line into well-known antisemitic tropes. We would advise him to be more careful in his use of language in future.”

    But the veiled threats weren’t all the “friends of Israel” came up with to prove how wrong Farage was about the power of the Israel Lobby.

    Well, here are a couple of items that may have escaped notice, and outrage, that have to do with pandering to Israel. The first is from a source in the UK, apparently unconcerned about IHRA definitions of “anti-semitism”.

    “A rabbi in the US has called for genocide against Palestinians living in Israel and the occupied territories, stating that they should be killed until they “realise they have no future in the land of Israel”.

    Had this been said by a Palestinian about Israelis, the howling in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem would have been heard in New York.

    The second is from an article in Haaretz, which features this headline and quote.
