Unbelievable Chutzpah: Israel’s Secret Assassinations

Rise and Kill First: The Secret History of Israel’s Targeted Assassinations by Ronen Bergman, Random House (2018)

Israeli television recently aired a video of two Israeli soldiers filming themselves in the act of shooting a Palestinian protester at the Gaza boundary while cheering. Filming one’s own crimes against humanity – shooting Palestinians for sport – suggests a sense of security in never being held accountable.

Even more evidence of this impunity is apparent in Rise and Kill First: The Secret History of Israel’s Targeted Assassinations by veteran Israeli journalist Ronen Bergman, staff writer for The New York Times Magazine.

Prosecutors at the International Criminal Court might want to consider this book Exhibit A if Israeli government and military officials are ever indicted for war crimes. It contains open admissions of guilt in plotting and executing extralegal assassinations in violation of international law.

“Since World War II, Israel has assassinated more people than any other country in the Western world,” Bergman writes. In many cases, these so-called targeted killings over the last two decades also involved the deaths of nearly a thousand bystanders, according to Bergman’s calculations – those numbers, however, fail to include the tens of thousands killed in overt acts of war and collective punishment that mostly go unmentioned in this book.

That Israeli officials were willing to be quoted and identify others by name implies a certainty of never being held accountable in a court of law. Consider, for example, the instruction given by former Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon to Avi Dichter, at that time Shin Bet’s director, in reference to Hamas. Sharon, in an open admission of intent to commit genocide, stated: “Go for it. Kill them all.”

It was not just assassinations. Bergman writes, “‘state security’ was used to justify a large number of actions and operations that, in the visible world, would have been subject to criminal prosecution and long prison terms: constant surveillance of citizens because of their ethnic or political affiliations; interrogation methods that included prolonged detention without judicial sanction, and torture; perjury in the courts and concealment of the truth from counsel and judges.”

Rise and Kill First details the lengthy history of Israeli political assassination, dating back to British Mandate Palestine. It includes the period of the so-called Border Wars (a term used by historian Benny Morris in his book Israel’s Border Wars, 1949-1956), the formation of the Palestine Liberation Organization in the 1960s, the Israeli invasion and occupation of Lebanon in the 1970s, the first and second intifadas in the occupied territories beginning in the 1980s and the ongoing military campaigns against Hizballah, Syria and Iran (the so-called Radical Front) that continue today.

As the decades went on, assassinations became increasingly frequent, in part due to improved surveillance through drones and computer technology, enabling intelligence agencies to carry out hundreds of operations per year as opposed to only a few previously.

“Go for it! Kill them all!” — Ariel Sharon

Collateral damage

The book’s title derives from the Talmudic command that a person has the right to “rise and kill first” as a preemptive measure.

This concept formed both the moral and legal basis for the policy, which many human rights groups consider invalid under international law because execution without trial makes a mockery of due process and erases the distinction between combatants and civilians. Many of the victims were political and even religious figures who were most likely not involved in planning attacks against Israel, Bergman asserts.

The Haganah – the paramilitary precursor to the Israeli army – defined assassinations as “personal terror operations,” targeting leaders of the Palestinian national movement. After 1948 all of Israel’s intelligence agencies, including the military intelligence department Aman, the Mossad and Shin Bet, became involved in extralegal killings.

The assassination policy allowed for the murders of Palestinians and other Arabs simply because they were part of the resistance against Israeli settler colonialism.

The people killed to avenge the holding of hostages and deaths of Israeli athletes at the 1972 Summer Olympic Games in Munich, for example, indicate that Israeli intelligence simply picked out leaders or representatives of the Palestine Liberation Organization, not those directly involved in the Black September group that planned the abduction. Palestinian Wael Zuaiter, who was translating One Thousand and One Nights from Arabic to Italian while living in Rome and serving as a local PLO representative, was one of the murder victims, as was a misidentified Moroccan waiter living in Lillehammer, Norway.

That a racist code existed is undeniable, particularly given the distinction Israeli intelligence officials often made between “collateral damage” involving Arabs and non-Arabs: If Arab bystanders or family members might be killed, the operation was still likely to be given the go-ahead; if non-Arab bystanders might die, it was to be avoided. As Bergman notes, “as long as the targets were located in enemy countries, and as long as the innocent civilians were Arabs, the finger on the trigger became quicker.”

Israeli government and intelligence officials even planned the downing of commercial airliners in the hope of assassinating leading PLO officials. Although the plan was never implemented, Israeli officials developed an elaborate scheme to shoot down such aircraft in radar-free zones over the Mediterranean Sea so that discovery of the wreckage would be more difficult and the crime conceivably concealed.

News accounts seized on a separate incident detailed by Bergman in which the planned downing of an aircraft believed to be carrying PLO Chairman Yasser Arafat was narrowly averted in 1982. The plane was carrying wounded Palestinian children, and Arafat was not aboard.

Missing the point

Many of Bergman’s revelations are so shocking that one wonders why an apparently loyal Israeli journalist would expose them. But he is hardly the first reporter to venture into the realm of exposing the secrets of intelligence agencies, even if they tarnish the state’s carefully cultivated image.

The rationale is usually that the documented crimes represent “mistakes” that the exposé hopefully corrects without fundamentally challenging the nature of the state that carries them out. This journalistic genre largely misses the point. Intelligence agencies are not gatherers of information to protect state security, but are rather covert actors engaged in implementing the state’s hegemonic ambitions by any means necessary.

Intelligence agencies protect their secrets. It’s the rare journalist who can ferret them out by diligent investigation.

Most often, intelligence or government officials themselves leak secrets because of policy disagreements, splits within ruling factions or political ambitions. Bergman acknowledges this fact and makes it obvious that his principal source was the late Meir Dagan, an army general who became head of the Mossad under Israeli prime ministers Ariel Sharon, Ehud Olmert and Benjamin Netanyahu.

Unfortunately, Bergman is little more than a transcriber, bringing minimal analysis or historical background. For example, Dagan’s covert program to assassinate Iranian nuclear scientists is cited as a better method than overt military action to halt Iran’s alleged nuclear weapons program. The diplomatic negotiations that resulted in an international agreement and a rigorous inspections regime for Iran’s nuclear program are simply ignored.

The book has numerous other failings as well, including giving short shrift to the efforts of Israeli human rights organizations to halt extrajudicial killings and framing the Israeli narrative in a way that omits the numerous acts of collective punishment carried out against the Palestinian people since 1948. The words “collective punishment” appear only once in its 784 pages in reference to a home demolition.

Omitted are references to Deir Yassin and the dozens of other massacres that occurred during the Nakba of 1948-49, the massacre at Khan Younis in 1956, the numerous military provocations Israel carried out in Syria’s Golan Heights prior to the 1967 war and Israel’s flagrant violations of the ceasefires with Hamas in Gaza in 2008, 2012 and 2014 that resulted in the deaths of thousands, including children.

LD: Strange to see how the author of this article omits to mention the bombing of the USS Liberty on 8 June 1967 by an Israeli fighter jet and torpedo boats, leading to the bloodbath of 34 American crew members and the wounding of 171 other Americans on board, including civilians. The Johnson ZOG administration did everything in its power to protect the killers.

“KILL  THEM  ALL!”

Rendition and torture

To his credit, however, Bergman does delineate the similarities between the Israeli and US intelligence agencies, including recruiting journalists as spies, setting up false-front organizations to interfere in other countries, working with ex-Nazis and helping identify left-wing political activists under authoritarian regimes for the purpose of having them tortured or murdered.

Aman’s Unit 504, which engaged in kidnappings, anticipated the CIA’s rendition and torture program following the 11 September 2001 attacks. And Bergman makes it clear that both former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and National Security Advisor Stephen Hadley under President George W. Bush approved and supported the Israeli assassination policy.

Ultimately, the belief in the effectiveness of extrajudicial executions rests on the idea that individuals, not social forces, make history: Eliminate a single person and history is changed. Following the killing of a Hizballah leader, Bergman reports that some in Israeli intelligence came to recognize that “Hizballah wasn’t one-man’s guerrilla force – it was a movement … a legitimate grassroots social movement.”

Bergman makes the dramatic claim that Israel’s intelligence agencies, having come to realize the futility of an assassination policy against Palestinian resistance, embrace the two-state solution, leaving them at odds (though “quietly”) with the current Netanyahu government. Dagan, in particular, appeared to have been motivated to leak some of Israel’s most damaging secrets due to a rift with Netanyahu over his opposition to a Palestinian state.

The likelihood of an eventual binational state if the two-state solution failed was an outcome that Dagan feared more than anything. In one of his last remarks at an Israeli political rally, Dagan explained his worries:

“I do not want a binational state. I do not want an apartheid state. I do not want to rule over three million Arabs. I do not want us to be hostages of fear, despair and deadlock.”

After reading Rise and Kill First, one wonders: Had Dagan lived, would he have ordered the assassinations of those advocating a binational democratic state?

  1. The “unbelievable chutzpah” of Israhell seems to be the ability to shamelesly reveal their true “human nature”. The very foundation of the rogue state is built upon seizing territory inhabited by someone else, and it is natural they wish to eradicate evidence of that injustice, furthering their own legitimacy. It is “natural” for Uncle Sam to go along with the act to cover his own ass for assisting in such a bad mistake – leading him to even cover-up the USS Liberty assault. America’s government agencies are similar to Israhell’s for many of the same reasons. It is vital for the maintenance of each that the other remains an “ally” (partner in crime). Strange bedfelllows, indeed.

  2. ADMIN: COMMENT FOUND IN “TRASH”. No idea why it ended up there.

The only “sin” of the Sodomites was the one the Jew god foisted on them as an excuse to steal their water. Take a look at Judges 19. This is the very same story as the one in Genesis 19, only this time it’s murdering Jews saying “send them out so we may know them.”

Is it any wonder one finds no “sin” or “wickedness” mentioned in the Judges story, only the admonition to think about their murderous act? One can only wonder why there is no “sin” or “wickedness” in that story, considering the Jew murders a concubine and cuts up her body to send the bloody parts to all the tribes of Israel. No doubt, this story has been the basis for more than one Hollywood horror movie.

So why were the Sodomites “sinfully wicked?” They would not accede to the Jew god’s demand for their water! And we all know what happens when goyim refuse to play ball with the Jews.

    (1) Sodom had water and plenty of it –

And Lot lifted up his eyes, and beheld all the plain of Jordan, that it was well watered every where, before the LORD destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah, even as the garden of the LORD, like the land of Egypt, as thou comest unto Zoar.

Note the comparison of the region to the garden of Eden, better known as Egypt.

    (2) Abram, god’s favorite shill had recently extorted a considerable herd of animals from Pharaoh,

The princes also of Pharaoh saw her, and commended her before Pharaoh: and the woman was taken into Pharaoh’s house. And he entreated Abram well for her sake: and he had sheep, and oxen, and he asses, and menservants, and maidservants, and she asses, and camels. And the LORD plagued Pharaoh and his house with great plagues because of Sarai Abram’s wife.

    (3) So Abraham (note the name change) “chose” Canaan’s dry, western regions, while his nephew Lot went to Sodom’s well-watered region.

Then Lot chose him all the plain of Jordan; and Lot journeyed east: and they separated themselves the one from the other. Abram dwelled in the land of Canaan, and Lot dwelled in the cities of the plain, and pitched his tent toward Sodom. But the men of Sodom were wicked and sinners before the LORD exceedingly.

It doesn’t take much to figure out the results of taking large herds of animals into dry regions. What god’s favorite shill needed was – surprise! Water!

And the LORD said, Because the cry of Sodom and Gomorrah is great, and because their sin is very grievous; I will go down now, and see whether they have done altogether according to the cry of it, which is come unto me; and if not, I will know. And the men turned their faces from thence, and went toward Sodom: but Abraham stood yet before the LORD.

Note how the “men” would not buy into the “grievous sin” scam and sign on to the lord god’s plan to steal Sodom’s water, thus the need for the moral imperative as proof of their “wickedness.”

Using the moral imperative, exemplified by Gods famous countdown to disaster, the lord god justifies his theft of Sodom’s water supply.

And the LORD said, If I find in Sodom fifty righteous within the city, then I will spare all the place for their sakes. And Abraham answered and said, Behold now, I have taken upon me to speak unto the Lord, which am but dust and ashes: Peradventure there shall lack five of the fifty righteous: wilt thou destroy all the city for lack of five? And he said, If I find there forty and five, I will not destroy it. And he spake unto him yet again, and said, Peradventure there shall be forty found there. And he said, I will not do it for forty’s sake. And he said unto him, Oh let not the Lord be angry, and I will speak: Peradventure there shall thirty be found there. And he said, I will not do it, if I find thirty there. And he said, Behold now, I have taken upon me to speak unto the Lord: Peradventure there shall be twenty found there. And he said, I will not destroy it for twenty’s sake. And he said, Oh let not the Lord be angry, and I will speak yet but this once: Peradventure ten shall be found there. And he said, I will not destroy it for ten’s sake. And the LORD went his way, as soon as he had left communing with Abraham: and Abraham returned unto his place.

See? All the Sodomites were wicked, they all need killing. But wait! This story stinks as bad as the Jews’ mythical Hallowedhoax.

Why would god’s messengers say this

And they said, Nay; but we will abide in the street all night.

What exactly were these agents of the lord trolling for, queers maybe? This is from the “pure” King James version. Some versions have these angel/men abiding in the center of the village, the very place where a water well would be located. The reason these angel/men planned on staying in the streets was to present the lord god’s imperious demands for Sodom’s water. However, Lot knew the citizens of Sodom were not white liberals, so they would not take this demand lying down.

The fact is, knowing what the lord god was after, all the people of Sodom turned out to deal with the lord god’s men/angels.

But before they lay down, the men of the city, even the men of Sodom, compassed the house round, both old and young, all the people from every quarter: And they called unto Lot, and said unto him, Where are the men which came in to thee this night?

No doubt the Sodomites wanted more than just an ass fucking from God’s ass-clowns. They wanted blood, the Sodomites wanted to beat their reply into the lord god’s two ass clowns as a clear message about his demands for their water.

So what does Lot do? Why of course, he offers up his two “virgin” daughters to these alleged faggots. But the Sodomites did not want to fuck these ass clowns, they wanted to judge them for their imperious demands. Note the Jew in Judges 19 does exactly the same thing, but in that story the offer results in the concubine’s raped death.

And Lot went out at the door unto them, and shut the door after him, And said, I pray you, brethren, do not so wickedly. Behold now, I have two daughters which have not known man; let me, I pray you, bring them out unto you, and do ye to them as is good in your eyes: only unto these men do nothing; for therefore came they under the shadow of my roof. And they said, Stand back. And they said again, This one fellow came in to sojourn, and he will needs be a judge now will we deal worse with thee, than with them.

So what are the Sodomites dealing with?

Turns out Lot lied about his daughters, they weren’t virgins after all. (Imagine that, a jew lying.)

And Lot went out, and spake unto his sons in law, which married his daughters.

Now what kind of idiot would offer up two used daughters to a bunch of ravening faggots? Either Lot was clueless about homosexuality or the Sodomites were not faggots. (If you have trouble imagining a Jew lying, just try imagining a Jew being clueless about homosexuality.)

The fact is, the story of Sodom was a teaching story about the use of the moral imperative to justify the slaughter of innocents in order to steal their wealth and resources. Jews have played out this story time and again; most recently with Iraq and Libya and now with Iran. The moral imperative works every time, especially with stupid Christians who believe in evil instead of depraved, Jewish greed.

    1. Hi Arch,
Something most people never think about, but Israel took the fertile coastal strip, which gets the rain. If you go inland it is the dry desert left for the Palestinians.

The really sick thing is that Jews were never farmers. They never needed farms. They have always been professional white collar people.

A Jewish American economist told me that the greening of the desert was a myth, and that to green the desert it would have cost less to cover the desert with $100 bills

  3. It is incredible that the USA remains an ally to Israel. One would have thought that the attack on the USS Liberty would have seen Israel marked as an enemy. Most Americans do not know the attack took place, or that it killed 34 of the crew.

Jewish control of the media in America is so complete that they now seem to think they can get away with anything, but the pendulum is now swinging back.

    1. The keepers of USA Incorporated have waaay too much inve$ted in Uncle Sam’s allance with Israhell. “Money” is the reason….and will always BE the reason. Even now, try to imagine the USA economic loss were she to abandon all foreign entanglements with foreign powers, i.e., Israhell. It is that relationship which perpetuates the injustices. We are damned if we do – and damned if we don’t. 😮
Not all of us can live (as I live) separated from modern society. Yet, even I would find it difficult to forego Internet communications and some modern conveniences. No diesel fuel, no trucks or tractors, no electricity. Only horses and mules and bear tallow for candles! 😶

    2. Can you be specific why you think that ‘ …the pendulum is now swinging back’?
I think it’s getting worse. The jew world order is a fact. Can’t you see the prisonbars?

      1. Hi NTP,
I base it on my personal experience. I now hear more people saying they are against Israel and its supporters. It is not just about Israel. I find many people resent Jewish control in the media, government, academia and finance.

    3. John –

Pendulums are not used anymore. They have been replaced with smart-phones. All humanity is controlled and moving forward today…. NOT BACK!!!

      1. Hi Pat,
Many gentiles now resent Jewish Power, and I am sure that nemesis still follows hubris.

      2. JK,
Yep. Recently talked to another trucker. Last year he went on a tour of Isreal with his wife. His tour guide was a Pali in fact. He said he felt quite impressed with the hospitality of the Palis but was quite taken back by the arrogance and intolerance of Israelis. He seemed genuinly disappointed by his experience with Israelís. A little confused. Like a man discovering that what hed been taught his whole life was false. Yes. Perhaps the tide is turning.

      3. Hi Donaldo,
Agreed, it comes as a shock when you see how awful some Jews can be, especially Israelis. Antisemitism after meeting such aggressive and intolerant people is not unreasonable. In fact it is a perfectly natural response.
Recent scandals, eg Madoff, Green, Weinstein etc have brought them to prominence, yet we are not supposed say that these people are all Jews. In England in the 1980s a group of 7 Jews were involved in rigging the Guinness share price. 7 out of 7, what are the odds against that? when Jews are 1 in 220 of the UK population. We were accused of antisemitism if we mentioned that they were all Jews. If they had been Irish, or Indians, or Mormons or anything else the media would have headlined it.

It was one of the incidents that began to turn me from being jew-friendly to being definitely jew-wary, and Jews should not be surprised.

      4. Thanks for the reply, John –

“Many gentiles now resent Jewish Power…”

And those gentiles are powerless. All they can do now in UK is vote…. and all elections are fixed by jew bankers in London.

When ALL people in UK can grow their own food without restrictions… and own guns unrestricted…. the real reversal you keep mentioning will be evident. Until then…. the control process marches deeper into the 21st century and beyond. The yoke of being a ‘SUBJECT’ is too heavy to remove.

That same measure applies globally. AND those two elements above are being forced out of the hands of the people in the US by CODES….NOT LAWS. The same is happening in Thailand. The Thai gun CODES even include air riles!!

        ….

The application fee for most firearms licenses is 1,000 Baht (about US$30) for each license or unit; a license for possession and use of air rifles is 200 Baht per license/unit.; carry licenses are also 1,000 Baht per license. (Chaninat & Leeds, supra.)  The price of a firearm was said to be about US$600 in 2016.  (Gabriel Domínguez, A Look at Thailand’s Fervent Gun Culture, DW (Feb. 19, 2016).)
Use of firearms, ammunition, or explosives other than those specified as permissible according to ministerial regulations in the commission of certain crimes pursuant to the Penal Code is punishable by life imprisonment or the death penalty.  (Firearms Act, § 72bis ¶ 4.)

        Gun Culture
Thailand is said to have “the highest reported rate of gun-related deaths in Southeast Asia – almost 50 percent more gun homicides than the Philippines,” and, based on 2013 data compiled by the Institute for Health and Metric Evaluation of the University of Washington, “the rate is also twice as high as that of the US, which had 3.55 deaths per 100,000 people” as opposed to Thailand’s rate of 748 per 100,000 people. (Domínguez, supra.)  The same year, the U.S. State Department’s Bureau for Diplomatic Security characterized Thailand as having “a fervent gun culture on par with the United States and … [being] a world leader in firearms-related homicides.”  (Id.)  As reported in early 2016, the gun-ownership ratio in Thailand is also high, with more than six million registered guns among the population of 66.7 million, according to Ministry of Interior figures, or one in ten people legally owning a gun.  (Id.)  There is also a black market in which weapons are sold illegally, which could push the estimates of the actual number of civilian-held firearms in circulation, legal and illegal, to about ten million.  (Id.)

  4. Given that Mossad is now like Murder Incorporated, those of us on Darkmoon who oppose Jewish Power could be their targets. One of the advantages of getting old is that we do not have a lot of life to lose.

I am struggling to think of any other advantage.

    1. Resenting and talking about jewish power doesn’t change the jewish status quo. It’s acts which change this situation. As long as they maintain the keypositions and use jewish nepotism the Goyim can resent and talk what they want.

    2. JK,
Dont think those of us on Darkmoon have a lot to worry about. Were just grains of sand on the beach.
Were no challenge to the powers that be. Some call it “Jewish” power. Donaldo simply calls it evil. Any way,, if they want Donaldo……good luck. Donaldos a trucker. Doesnt know where hes gonna be 2 or 3 days in the future. Somewhere in the US. Thats all he knows. Come into Donaldos truckstop please. Ya might not ever see the promised land again. 🙂

  5. I think there is much concern in the Jewish community about what they perceive to be a rise in anti-Semitism in the United States; and I think the article about “rising to kill first,” may be addressing this issue. I have read that Jews gave the name “exceptional nation” to the United States, and did so because there was no anti-Semitism there, in comparison to European counries. Probably today many assimilated Jews are experiencing self-consciousness about being Jewish for the first time in their lives; and this is a matter if great concern to such Jews; and the author of the article is addressing this, perhaps, by drawing a distinction between assimilated Jews and Zionists, and is saying, in effect, “The problem is those people, not us assimilated Jews.”

I personally think the germ of the problem lives in Jewish identity itself. I think Jewish identity involves a blockage of the conscience, and of inwardness generally. And the result is behavior that lacks honor.

Something to consider is that 9-11 was done (in my opinion) primarily to circumvent the Fourth Amendment and spy on White Americans, and the evidence is strong that Israel was the author of 9-11, with help from American Jews. Now there is more than one reason why the Jews wanted to spy on White Americans. But what is to stop them from poisoning Jew-wise White Americans?

  6. From the article:
“Prosecutors at the International Criminal Court might want to consider this book Exhibit A — IF — Israeli government and military officials are ever indicted for war crimes.”

The ICC established by Rome… that will never happen:

The International Criminal Court (ICC or ICCt) is an intergovernmental organization and international tribunal that sits in The Hague in the Netherlands. The ICC has the jurisdiction to prosecute individuals for the international crimes of genocide, crimes against humanity, and war crimes.

The ICC is intended to complement existing national judicial systems and it may therefore only exercise its jurisdiction when certain conditions are met, such as when national courts are unwilling or unable to prosecute criminals or when the United Nations Security Council or individual states refer situations to the Court. The ICC began functioning on 1 July 2002, the date that the Rome Statute entered into force.

The Rome Statute is a multilateral treaty which serves as the ICC’s foundational and governing document.

States which become party to the Rome Statute, for example by ratifying it, become member states of the ICC.

Currently, there are 123 states which are party to the Rome Statute and therefore members of the ICC.

  7. in Israel there is no such thing as post traumatic stress syndrome . You only see that in people who have conscience and who do not dehumanize their fellow man like people in USA UK and others. . For a Jew everyone else is cattle . And so killing to these land -thieves-trigger-happy murderers means nothing .

  8. gh – there really is n american government. the usa is a total puppet state. as it is now, nobody gets elected without the use of the commercial media. and we know who’s got that covered. but more than that, the jews cultivate candidates to serve their purposes in the first place…
yes the pendulum is swinging back. if it was not you wouldn’t see the zionist stooges in government pushing for laws against antisemitism…
pat – more gun deaths in thailand than the usa? that’s not something the gun grabbers will want people to know.. but isn’t that from playing russian roulette in bars?
jk – the plan is to have the country descend into bloody chaos. call it civil war. it may last a long while, like the french revolution. probably four out of five people will be killed.. the authorities are already at war with the public.. it’s really the patriot act and all it’s subsequent relatives that cast the usa into revolutionary turmoil, but so far it’s mainly only the authorities that are beyond the pale…

    1. Bark –

“…but isn’t that from playing russian roulette in bars?”

I seriously doubt that. The jew ‘Deer Hunter’ movie might have planted that seed in Americans.

From my searches on why to move to Thailand… gun violence in Thailand comes mainly from armed robberies, crimes of passion, organized crime, and self-defense.

The crimes of passion are often related to the Thai concept of losing face.

Losing face = embarrassment = loss of honor.

For the Thais, losing face is a “YUGE” offense and is one of the greatest insults one can impose on a Thai.

Loss of face often occurs in very simple everyday interactions… and has caused violence and gun deaths over the smallest matters such as parking spot quarrels.

Mafia caused deaths are “BIGGLY” high in Thailand.
