Carl Jung on Life After Death (video)

According to Jung, the psyche is not bound by time and space. It can therefore continue its existence after death in a dimension beyond time and space. This is not just a “belief”, Jung explains. To those who have experienced the concept through transcendental  intuition, it is “knowledge”. You don’t believe in life after death; you either know it or you don’t. Let Jung explain in his own words:

  1. “Vocatus atque non vocatus deus aderit”
(Called or not called, God will be present)

Hayagriva dasa: Jung feels that modem man should ask himself, “Have I any religious experience and immediate relation to God, and hence that certainty which will keep me, as an individual, from dissolving in the crowd?” Our relationship with God ultimately assures our own individuality.

Srila Prabhupada: Yes, all living entities are individuals, and God is the supreme individual. According to the Vedic version, all individuals are subordinate to Him.
Nityo nityanam cetanas cetananam (Katha-upanisad 2.2.13). The supreme individual is one, and the subordinate are many. The supreme individual is maintaining His subordinates, just as a father maintains his family. When the children learn to enjoy their father’s property without encroaching upon one another, accepting what is allotted them, they will attain peace.

Hayagriva dasa: That ends our session on Jung.

Srila Prabhupada: So far, he seems the most sensible.
    [of the Western philosophers]

  2. At the end Jung said, “When you think in a certain way, you MAY feel considerably better.”

That is not very definitive at all. “In a certain way” tells nothing and “MAY” is a guess.

Jesus supposedly told folks in Matthew 6:8 that the father already knows what you NEED. That is much more definitive.

7-And when you pray, do not babble on like pagans, for they think that by their many words they will be heard.
8-Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask Him.

Thinking a certain way is dependent upon what that “way” IS. It’s a choice whereby you’ve CHOSEN to feel better, which has nothing to do with believing or NOT believing in life after death, but by the simple fact that you are alive NOW. In effect this is the basis of faith, “transcendental intuition” in a nutshell

      Don’t be-lieve…..just BE.

The ol’ gray matter could use a rest now and again😄

“Thinking a certain way is dependent upon what that “way” IS.”
        Thanks, ole friend.
I have known THAT for decades. I have numerous semester hours of of psychology behind me, lacking only three hours for a minor degree. That is old stuff for me.
        I know his kind.
Like the psychology professors I have known & studied for, and as a Swiss psychiatrist and psychoanalyst who founded analytical psychology…. he was not very definitive in his analysis, not forthright at all.

        Matthew did better!! 🙂

        Let’s try this:
I choose to think in a way that will result with my feeling better. I WILL this. By doing so, I’ve succeeded in “making my way” outside the head and into the heart…..where the true life force resides

        Works every time 😁

“Srila Prabhupada: Yes, all living entities are individuals, and God is the supreme individual. According to the Vedic version, all individuals are subordinate to Him.”
    Not buying that…
    The Universe is ONE HOOP..
    It has no hierarchy…

“8-Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask Him.”
It’s a question of YOU ALLOWING the next MEAN-ING-FULL E-VENT to partner with your life…
When the Father and the Son UNDER-STAND each other…
    Just my opinion..
Also, there is a lot to be said for strength, courage, resolve, a lot to be said for plain old persistence, but I think the real leaders are the ones with greater intuitive ability, able to cast their consciousness, which has no physical boundaries, back and forth through time… After all, in the situation the natural leaders emerge…

    1. Bark, the Swami say would say because you have no knowledge of a certain hierarchy nor a desire to know of one, there is no such thing. So what can be done?

Not an uncommon conclusion here on earth and an understandable one at that, albeit one hastily arrived at and short on or absent of experience and
      (look it up).

“Not buying that. The Universe is ONE HOOP.”

Big deal! Barkingmad rejects Vedanta. Therefore Vedanta sucks.

Barkingmad has spoken! The Universe is ONE HOOPY-DOOP!

Move over Newton, Einstein, Stephen Hawking! World moron-genius Barkingmad proclaims: “Worship me, all ye wankers and riffraff of humanity! … for I am the Great God Barkingmad! 🙂

    1. Madame,

Please do something to moderate your sarcastic contempt for this pathetic man. He is obviously suffering from a serious personality disorder in which delusions of grandeur and narcissism play an important part. He has no other website on which he can scratch his sores in public. Let him make a fool of himself here if he wishes.

It’s a Free Thought Hall Darling, and weren’t you told to lay off the liquor?
    I never said Worship Me…
    I never said worship anything..
    You may if you want..
    So may I…
But, considering all the atrocities that have been and are being committed in the name of God, shouldn’t we all be careful with that?
And now on the dying Planet, seeing as how all these ancient scriptures and religious potentates haven’t saved us yet, shouldn’t we maybe wonder if they’ve had us somewhat on the wrong path all along?
Also, differences of opinion are evidence of freedom of thought, which you won’t have much of in any totalitarian state, and it doesn’t make much difference really if that’s one from so-called Godless Communism or some form of Religious Fascism, and there are those…
Interestingly, it’s the Jews who push the limits of censorship, where they choose…
That’s OK but degeneracy doesn’t look good in the offing either…
Meanwhile, the struggle continues between those who conclude their stability derives from their long institutions and those others who fear them, and for good reason, as they cite the hideous history and badly flawed doctrinal factors, FGM, Circumcision, Sacrifice, Martyrdom, Hell…
Now as we Blind Mice are piped along into the Global-Surveillance State-Dicatorship it will probably make little difference what any of us Trans-Humanist AI Slaves think, where there will be no privacy whatsoever and choice will have become an illusion at best, and in fact we should suspect, while we’re insulting each other today, there is an extermination plan for the white race afoot to make Joe Stalin and Mao Zedong’s communist genocides pale by comparison…
You and Doctor Parker Have A Nice Day…

I stand by my comment. It receives the full support of Dr Parker. It also receives the full (though silent) support of Admin. And this for two reasons you are not smart enough to understand:

      (1) They don’t delete my hostile comments, which cut you down to size and makes mincemeat of you. They allow me to attack you because I do their work for them. They know that bullies like you need to be resisted and not allowed to spread your poison unhindered.

      (2) The administrators of this website share my ideology. They believe in traditional values, values firmly rooted in the Christian ethos. Values the promote honor and decency. Your “values” are the values of the uneducated internet conspiracy theorist, rooted in hatred and contempt for Christian civilization which in your stupidity you associate with the Jews.

I guess that’s why I despise people like you so much — because the more brainwashed and unoriginal you are, the more you puff yourself up as a brilliant political dissident.

As for me being under the influence of alcohol, I guess you’ve never heard of the Latin phrase “IN VINO VERITAS”.
