In Dark December

Listen!— ah listen to the bells
ring out the past, ring in the new
this Christmas time! How my heart swells,
my love, for you.

Where have you gone, into what night?
Send me one word across the sea,
one word to heal my human plight
and set me free.

—The happy days that are no more,
let them go. Remember, remember
the golden days, and count the score
in dark December.

  1. Christmas message to our readers:

Happy Christmas, everyone! We’re having a break from the “heavy stuff” over the festive period, but please feel free to continue to discuss the serious issues that happen to be on your minds.

If you would like to make off-topic comments on other issues, or offer poems or philosophical reflections of your own, that will be more than welcome. You can do this on this thread or on the next two non-political threads.

We will be returning to more serious topics in a few days’ time.

    1. Have a happy and peaceful Christmas, back at you! 😀
The latest “bad news” sort of has ME in a depressed mood, and I’m going to go to spend Christmas with my daughter and her mother. They are of most concern to me, and I’m anxious for them to be OK, even when I have to part this life. There’s really nothing any of us needs in terms of material things, and I detest “Christmas shopping” as a mandate. I’m carrying an automatic rifle with me in my car, so at least I’ll be somewhat prepared if SHTF while I’m on the road. The gun-grabbers can kiss my ass!
(If the commies send out their agents – police, – not knowing if they’ll come home alive, maybe they’ll rethink that disruption of our western culture.)

Don’t let the bastards get you down. Instead, even though I quit drinking years ago, symbolically speaking….

Let’s raise a glass of Christmas cheer
And celebrate whom we hold dear
We’ll go out blastin’ if we must
In Jesus Christ we give our trust

Merry Christmas to all my friends at darkmoon!💖

  2. In dark December
    a friend drops by
    to wish us well
    to make us laugh
    to make us smile
    to bring us Christmas cheer
    listen up everybody and hear!
Happiness is The Reason for The Season!
the time of year friends are most dear!
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! 🙂

  3. Here what the Quran says in part about the miracle birth of Jesus, peace be upon him when he spoke in his cradle: “Peace be upon me the day I was born, the day that I die, and the day I am raised up alive again.” Chapter Mariam (Quran 19:33).

Jesus’ name is mentioned in the Quran no less than 35 times; 27 times by his name “Jesus”, “عيسى” and Issa in Arabic, and 8 times as “the Messiah
    ” or “المسيح” in Arabic.

Mother Superior, Maryam (the Arabic of Mary) was mentioned by name in the Quran 34 times. In fact she is the woman mentioned by name in the Quran.

In the spirit of the holiday season,Merry Christmas to Lasha, Ruth, Ingrid, John, Toby, and to all other who celebrate ❤️

    1. Mahmoud –

The more I read the Q’uran (English translation), the more I see its wisdom. In fact, I have a first edition of “The Seven Pillars of Wisdom” by T. H. Lawrence. I think I’ll read it! 😊
Islam definitely appeals to manly men, and emphasizes polite conduct as a manly endeavor.

      1. Traditional Catholicism appeals to both manly men and womenly women. I mean the faith and worship of the ages before agents of Satan took over the institutional Church in 1958.
