Life’s Little Dream

Give thanks for the light while the sweet light lasts.
Give thanks for the glorious sun and the rain.
Give thanks for the storm and the wind that blasts
Hailstones from heaven on your windowpanes.
Give thanks for your legs while your legs are strong.
Give thanks for the green hills, still there to climb.
Give thanks for the dogs that gambol along
Beside you, their tails all wagging in time.
Where have they gone, the friends you would die for?
Where is their laughter now, where are their tears?
Where do they sit now, with none to adore
Their wizened old faces marked with the years?
Bless the new day, although heavy your load,
And carry your cross to the end of the road.

  1. For all things, give thanks! ๐Ÿ™‚
I like these verses, and I hope everyone realizes that without God, we cannot even take another breath… ๐Ÿค•

    so schwer sei dein Last.
