Darkmoon Site Recovers from Serious Setback *

Dear Friends,

The site appears to be running still, with comments still tricking in, but I and my colleagues have been denied all access to the site since 16 March when disaster struck. An investigation is being carried out into what actually went on.

I prefer not to speculate at present or indulge in needlessly alarmist scenarios, but I  sincerely believe that there has been a serious technical breakdown.

Hacking, I am reliably informed by the skilled computer  technician who has helped to restore order, is most unlikely.  No one’s private details have been compromised in any way because no one has broken into our site. Every single document that was there prior to 16 March is still there. Intact. There have been no deletions or damage done  to any documents whatever.  Our readers and commenters can rest easy on that score.

New articles will be uploaded soon, and it’s hoped that everything will be back to normal by the end of the week. Quite a few readers will have abandoned the site, thinking it has been shut down or seriously disabled in some way. Maybe they will return in due course. If not, too bad.

Special thanks to Lobro for this kindly suggestion of his:

Do EVERYTHING possible to persuade your ex-webmaster to return to his job, however briefly, in order to clean the site up and upgrade various services. If you are short of funds to cover his fees, let the commentariat know, you can count on my help.

Fortunately, this won’t be necessary. We will not be asking our readers for donations. We are a small family concern and have managed so far to refuse all advertisements and even decline unsolicited donations from wellwishers — on one occasion, about five years ago,  a surprisingly generous donation of $7,500 from a wealthy Franco-German lady.

If people wish to be generous, however, I would suggest a small donation once a year at Christmas to a suitable children’s charity in  Occupied Palestine.

Thank you for reading this announcement. Comments are welcome. You will pardon me if I do not respond to questions. I am unable to do so until a proper  investigation has been carried out.

Kind regards,

Lasha Darkmoon

  1. So this time it is not the (((usual suspects))), or perhaps they don’t hack on sabbath?

  2. I am glad you are back. I really do enjoy this site and check it daily. Hope everything works out well.

  3. It is good that you are staunch, and necessary to the truth, which always stands alone, and a lie cannot do that, and no matter how much power it has, the lie slowly loses. Thank you, and all the best to you.

  4. Thank God for that! And thanks for the update and good news, Lasha
