British writer Gyles Brandreth recounts in The Oldie magazine how a friend of his went into a shop to buy flowers for Mother’s Day.

The woman at the counter told him they did not sell flowers, saying:  “We are a circumcision clinic.

When his friend protested  that there were flowers in the window, the woman replied: “What do you expect us to put in the window?”
