Website Policy and Submissions
# 1. This website is owned by its editor John Scott Montecristo. Lasha Darkmoon has no control or influence over editorial decisions. She is not responsible for the selection of articles, so she should not be sent unsolicited articles for her consideration.
# 2. This website is no longer able to read or publish unsolicited material of ANY kind. This is not a reflection on the quality of submissions, which is often of a high standard, but is due largely to our own resource limitations and lack of time. The only unsolicited material we publish are occasional relevant comments by our regular readers in the Comments section. Otherwise, for legal and other reasons, the only articles we publish are the ones we come across ourselves on the internet first.
Note. It is an implicit understanding that all comments, when we wish, may be made into feature articles without consultation with their original writers. Every effort will be made to edit the comment responsibly: correcting mistakes, adding clarifications, and supplying suitable pictures to illustrate the text. Sometimes no changes will be made to the comment, which will be published exactly as written. Commenters who object to the publication of their comments as articles are welcome to ask for the deletion of their articles; and this will be done within 10 days of their request.
# 3. This website has been advised by Lasha Darkmoon to stop accepting donations. Anyone who values the work we do is urged to send their donations to a suitable Palestinian charity.
# 4. This is largely an unmonitored site. We have no time to read, edit, or agonize over every comment posted. Darkmoon regards itself as a “free speech zone”. You are free to say anything you want in any way you want. And we are free to delete your comment or ban you from posting if we happen to see your comment and think you are taking advantage of our hospitality. It’s as simple as that.
# 5. Please use ONE user name. The use of several different names or sock puppets is not allowed. Nor is it permissible to advertise your own website by constantly posting links to it in our Comments section.
# 6. Comments are sometimes lost in posting. If this happens to you, be patient. We are not responsible for these technical hitches. If you lose a comment, try posting it again.
# 7. Monitored comments. If you are a regular commenter and your comment suddenly goes for monitoring, don’t worry about this. This doesn’t mean you have done something wrong. Mostly this happens for purely technical reasons, e.g., you may have used three or more links in your post, or mistyped your email address.
# 8. LINKS. Comments which contain too many links or defective links (which can damage our website) will be deleted at once without explanation. Three links maximum per post are allowed without monitoring. Please avoid posting long lists of links and off-topic videos. These are seen as irritating distractions.
# 9. Bandwidth is expensive, so please do NOT reprint lengthy text from your own works or those of others, including news articles. Link to them, avoid long copy-and-paste block quotes. Longwinded comments that relate only tangentially to the subject being discussed will in future be deleted. Avoid copying interminable lists. Any attempt to derail discussion by introducing a new topic even on a back thread, to the detriment of the topic being currently discussed, will not be tolerated. If you have nothing relevant to say about the subject under discussion, please refrain from commenting.
# 10. WRITERS PUBLISHED HERE. Feel free to find fault with the writers we publish and offer constructive criticism of their work, but please refrain from vilifying them with crude, offensive, and defamatory language. Commenters are free to abuse and insult other commenters if they wish, within reason, but for legal reasons they must not apply the same level of invective to the writers we publish. Treat our writers with the same degree of respect you would like for yourself. If you can’t do that, keep silent; or go to some other website where scurrility and scatology are standard practice.
# 11. RACIST TERMS like “nigger”, “nigra”, “baboon”, “wog”, “raghead”, “kike” and “yid” should be avoided at all times. Such vulgar talk lowers the tone on our website and gives it a bad name. So please STOP using these terms!
# 12. Posters who resort to 4-letter-word obscenities, ribald sex talk, and foul abuse will be given a warning and then invited to leave. So will hotheads and agents provocateurs guilty of incitement to violence and genocide. Please refrain from all inflammatory talk about “the extermination of the Jews.” Freedom of speech is fine, but we don’t want our website to be shut down.
# 13. We are a pro-Christian website. All derogatory comments questioning the historical existence of Jesus Christ and sneering at the contents of the New Testament will be regarded as an attack on the cherished values of our ancestors. All such comments will be deleted at once. Feel free to exercise your freedom of speech in rubbishing Jesus Christ and ridiculing Christianity on some appropriate anti-Christian website — NOT on the Darkmoon site!
General Disclaimer Regarding Articles and Comments
# 14. This website accepts no responsibility for the views expressed by any of its article writers, with the single exception of Lasha Darkmoon. Though we tend to agree with the broad assumptions of most of the writers we publish, we occasionally publish articles we disagree with strongly. Such articles are published to stimulate discussion and in the interests of free speech, NOT because we approve of them.
# 15. COMMENTS. Please do not judge our website by its comments. These are largely unmonitored, but even the ones we have read and approved for publication can hardly be said to represent our viewpoint. Many of the comments are not only stupid and ill-informed, morally repugnant and outrageous, but actually attack the administrators of this site with unrelenting nastiness. The fact that we publish these putrid effluvia of sick minds does not mean that we approve of them. We publish them only because they are a reflection of reality, showing people as they are.
# 16. Sources. We make use of both alternative media sources and mainstream sources. If our commenters object to the stories we publish or the sources we choose, they are welcome to say so. But if they continue to find fault with our choice of stories and attempt to lecture us on what to publish and what not to publish, we will invite them politely to seek out another website more congenial to their tastes.
# 17. Finally, all the articles we publish are published in good faith, in the sincere belief that they are true, accurate and authentic. If we slip up occasionally and publish a story with false information, we will not hesitate to apologize and issue a correction.
